Curtis N Bruin, Sr.

Curtis Bruin was born October 9, 1963 in Beaufort, SC. He was the middle child of the late Wilson and Geraldine Bruin Sr.

Curtis attended public school in Bluffton, SC, graduating from H.E. McCracken High School in 1981.

Following graduation from high school, Curtis was employed at Parris Island, SC in the Motor Transport Division Repair Branch, as well as Broad Creek Marina as a mobile equipment servicer.

Curtis was well-known and liked in the community; most of his friends knew him as “Bear!”

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, Curtis passed away at Hilton Head Hospital after a brief illness.

In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene B. Gadson. Curtis is survived by a son, Curtis N. Bruin, Jr. of Bluffton; brother, Wilson Bruin (Perry) of Savannah, GA; sister, Nancy Bruin of Hilton Head Island, SC; nieces, Chrystal Bruin, Barbara Rawls, and Ewania Carswell (Zeddie); nephew, Reginald Rawls (Bernice), and a host of other loving and devoted cousins, family, and friends.
