Curtis “Whit” Wright, age 78, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Bonita Springs, FL and Waterloo, IA died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Wright was born on November 14, 1940 in Fort Dodge, IA, the son of the late Curtis and Harriett Wright. He was the owner and manager of Newkirk Welding Supplies. Whit successfully ran the company in Iowa until retiring to Bonita Springs. Outside of work he was an avid golfer. After moving to Bluffton he became very active with Maye River Baptist Church where he was involved with the senior adults Sunday school and the Thursday night men’s bible study.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Yarnell. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Palumbo (Mark); step-son, Lance Yarnell; brother, Richard Wright (Beth); nephew, Michael; and nieces, Amber and Jennifer.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Maye River Baptist Church Cemetery, 3507 Okatie Highway, Bluffton, SC.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Maye River Baptist Church.
