Dale Lawson Motes

Dale Lawson Motes, 87, born on October 18, 1935, completed his earthly journey and went to his heavenly home on December 11, 2022.

Our loving father was born in Belle Glade, FL and settled down in Hardeeville, SC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his only brother and one grandson.

Dale is survived by his 5 children: Dale Ann Ellis; Kathy Strickland (David); Donna Broome; Laura McKenzie (Michael); and Emmitt Motes (Kyli); 12 grandchildren; 23 great grands; and 2 great-great grands on the way.

Dale retired from Waste Management as a heavy equipment mechanic at the age of 67.  Beginning at the age of 13, he began what would become his love of mechanics in an auto repair garage.  Dale was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of Hardeeville Masonic Lodge #348.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Hardeeville United Methodist Church with burial in Purrysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church.
