He was born on May 2, 1923 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Daniel Horton and Lugia Roberts Horton. He was educated in the Ridgeland schools and attended USC. He was a Certified Client Advisor for General Motors Corporation and was a retiree of Jasper Motors. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a lifetime member of St. Paul
