Daniel Winford Sampley, Sr.

Daniel Winford Sampley Sr., 65 of Point South, SC passed away on January 12, 2010 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC.He was born in Cleveland, OH on February 29, 1944. He was the son of the late Winford and Helen Neal Sampley. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam and was a Purple Heart recipient. After twenty two years in the US Army he worked for the Department of Defense as a commissary Management Specialist. He was a Christian. He enjoyed radio controlled airplanes, loved to travel and loved his family.He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sampley of Point South, SC; one son, Daniel W. (Christine) Sampley Jr. of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Diana S. Gibbons and Kimberly R. (Danny) Edmiston all of Columbia, SC; one sister, Phyllis Heck of Indianapolis, IN; and eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Shawn, Justin, Cody, Ethan, Matthew, Cecilia, Stevie, Danielle and Zachary. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Kautz.Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 16, 2010 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC.
