Daphna Scott Houck

Daphna Scott Houck, 100, of Bluffton, SC and widow of Howard Houck passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in the Carolina House of Bluffton, SC.She was born in Rosebud, Oregon on May 14, 1909. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sally Walters Scott.She had lived in Bluffton for the past four years coming from Bedford, Ohio. She was a quilter, gardener, nursing home volunteer and a member of the Zion United Methodist Church of Millcreek Community, Todd, North Carolina.She is survived by two daughters, Betty McVey of Pemberton, WVA and Joann (Clarence) Shorr of Bluffton, SC; her sister in law, Ruth Scott of Todd, NC; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, Bill W., Carl T. and Albert F. Houck; three brothers, Rayner, Reeves and Mack R.; two sisters, Fay Scott and Iris Norris and one grandson.Funeral Services will be held in Bedford Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Island Hospice, 300 New River Parkway, Hardeeville, SC 29927.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC (www.saulsfh.com) and St. John Funeral Home of Bedford, OH is assisting the family with their arrangements.
