Daphne C. Gibson

Daphne C. Gibson, 86, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home.

Daphne was born on March 13, 1930 in Walthamstow, England, the daughter to the late Harry S. Faithfull and Murial C. Worley Faithfull.

Daphne moved to The United States in 1981 and later married the late Jerry Gibson. She was a former employee of Gulf Oil Co. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Hilton Head Country Club. After Jerry passed away in 1996, Daphne spent several years in Florida, eventually returning to Bluffton in 2010. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family.

Daphne is survived by sons, Dean Gibson (Jeramie) of Atlanta, GA and Scott Gibson of Beltsville, Maryland; daughters, Stacey Hetherington of North Adams, MA and Melanie Dempsey (Billy) of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren, Chris Gibson, Courtney Gibson, Ashley Dempsey, Ryan Gibson, and Michael Dempsey; and three greatgrandchildren, Nolan Dempsey, Conrad Dempsey, and Abel Simmons. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Faithfull.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 pm until the hour of the service.
