Darrell B. Woods, Sr.

Darrell Bryce Woods, Sr., 52, died at his Tickton Hall home on Thursday, November 3, 2016, after a short illness. A lifelong resident of the Lowcountry, Darrell was born on October 1, 1964 to H.B. Woods, Jr. and the late Betty Eugenia Groover Woods. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Eugene Woods. An avid outdoorsman, Darrell loved spending time with friends dove hunting and fishing, crabbing and shrimping on Euhaw Creek and the Broad River. He also enjoyed spending time at Santee. For many years, Darrell was an avid NASCAR fan. Darrell began his professional career with Arthur Cramer Electric. In 1996, he moved to the William Ryan Company where he remained until his death. While with William Ryan, Darrell completed a number of large scale electrical construction projects. He recently completed a large project at Palmetto Bluff where he had resided for many years. Darrell is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deeann Tinkham Woods; two sons, Darrell Bryce (Andrea) Woods, Jr., and Thomas Anthony Woods; one daughter, Carla Maria Woods; three grandchildren: Camden Woods, Gabriel Woods and Olivia Woods; one sister, Debora Woods (Thornton) Butler; three brothers, Woody (Linda) Woods, Roger (Earline) Woods, and Carl (Robbie) Woods; and many nieces and nephews. Services are private.
