Darryl Orme Hamerton

Darryl Orme Hamerton of Bluffton, South Carolina, age 77, died peacefully in his home on January 1st, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Wallace Rockwell Hamerton, his brother Donald Hamerton and his wife Gay, sisters and brothers in law Katherine and Scott Reed and Edward and Sarah Rockwell and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Harold Hamerton of Palo Alto, California. Darryl graduated from Chico State and got his Masters at the University of California, San Francisco. Darryl worked as a physical therapist primarily in the Bay Area. Darryl’s favorite times were with his family and friends, skiing in the Wasatch Mountains, hiking in Cortina, and a bike loop that included Skyline Boulevard and Half Moon Bay. Services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Palmetto Animal League, 56 Riverwalk Boulevard, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
