Daryle Francis Fitzgerald, born Daryle Francis Cameron, was born on January 20, 1969, at Quincy Hospital in Quincy, Massachusetts, to the late William and Patricia (Santoro) Fitzgerald.
Daryl was especially close to his late grandparents, Fran and Leo Santoro, and shared a deep and meaningful bond with his “second dad,” Thomas Fitzgerald, MD.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Rebecca Fitzgerald; his daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Peter Haycox; his daughter, Savannah Goodrow; his grandchildren Lilianna and Remington; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Toni Fitzgerald, and their children Alex, Abigail, and Alijah; his uncles Ronnie and Bobby; his Aunt Betty; his nephews Tyler and Mathew Jansky; and many beloved cousins.
Daryl was truly one of a kind and made friends wherever he went. He often said that a good day meant shaking hands and meeting five new people. He believed in and loved God and Jesus Christ, our Savior. He loved animals of all kinds—especially dogs—and took great joy in seeing a smile on a customer’s face.
Daryl truly loved his work in window tinting and often said, “If you enjoy something as much as I do, it’s not work.” He loved his wife deeply, and when they stepped foot in Bluffton in March of 2018, he said, “I feel like I’m home.”
He was funny, loved to talk, and could often be seen pacing the driveway or sidewalk, phone in hand, immersed in long and meaningful conversations. Daryl was devoted to restoring his beautiful green 1991 Ford Mustang, and the sound of its engine always brought him a huge smile.
Though his passing was devastating and tragic, there is comfort in knowing that he was doing what he loved at the time of his death
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal rescue organization in Daryl’s memory.
