David Leo Berube

After a three-year battle with bone cancer, David Leo Berube, age 81, of Bluffton, SC died peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2018 surrounded by family. Mr. Berube was born on February 11, 1936 in Providence, RI, the son of the late Leo and Regina Berube. He began his formal education at Bowdoin College and ultimately earned his Master’s Degree from Brown University. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military tenure he started his career as a high school history teacher. He was an avid tennis player, music lover and was of Catholic faith. Mr. Berube is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Berube; daughter, Jennifer Berube Lockhart (Ryan); sons, Mark and Evan Berube; brother, Dana Berube; sister, Carol Daniels; and granddaughters, Mary Kathryn and Amelia Lockhart. A celebration of his life will take place at 5:30 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at Bostwick Pavillion in Moss Creek. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
