David Miller Frankland of Moss Creek Plantation, Hilton Head died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Born on August 19, 1929 in Syracuse, NY, David was the son of George Robert and Ann Miller Frankland. A 1951 graduate of Millikin University in Decauter, IL, David worked for several years at General Motors before taking over his father-in-law's business, Super Turbine Sales Corporation in Pleasantville, NY. David owned the business until he retired to Hilton Head in 1995.David is survived by Nancy, his beautiful wife of 59 years, along with his daughters Cynthia Altman, and her husband Peter, of Trumbull, CT and Susan Clifford, and her husband Larry, of Greenwich, CT. He also leaves behind four wonderful grandchildren- Michelle and Nicholas Altman, and Dana and Scott Clifford. "Pop Pop" loved spending time with his family and enjoyed years of fun and competitive sports with his pals at Moss Creek Golf and Tennis Club. David was a 60-year member of the barbershop organization S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A and, for 21 years, was the lead singer in the Racquet Squad quartet. David was also an active member of the Moss Creek Owners Association and Church of the Cross.Services will be held at Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun St., Bluffton at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Church of the Cross Food Bank, P.O. Box 278, Bluffton, SC 29910 in memory of David Miller Frankland.
