David Pelham Harrelson

David Pelham Harrelson, 83, of Bluffton, SC passed away Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at his home.

David was born October 2, 1941 in Hayden, AL to the late Emmett Harrelson and Maude Steel Harrelson. Upon graduation, David joined the U.S. Navy, graciously serving his country for thirty years. Once retired from the Navy, he then continued his service by working for the Department of Defense for an additional 15 years. David met his wife, Elizabeth Gilliam, on January 14, 1984 and married a year later.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, David is survived by his sons, David E. Harrelson (Laura) of CO and Craig A. Harrelson (Angela) of FL; step-daughter, Amy Howland; and two grandchildren, Abigail and Max Harrelson. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Nicole Bennes; brother, Herman Harrelson; and sister, Jane Kilgor.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort.
