David Webb Lee

David Webb Lee, 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2013. Bea, his beloved wife of 32 years, and his faithful Newfoundland dog Phoebe were by his side.His maternal grandfather, Dr. Granbury, delivered David in West Orange New Jersey on March 30, 1931. After graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 1951, he attended US Army Officer Candidate School and served as an infantry company commander in the Korean War where he was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action and the Bronze Star for exceptional meritorious wartime service. His other personal awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Ribbon.After his discharge from the Army, his love of ships and the sea led him to Grace Shipping Lines where he worked as a shipbroker.
