David Pearson Lindner

September 15, 1964 — November 2, 2021

David Pearson Lindner, 57, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home in Pooler, GA.

David was born in Elkhorn and was the son of Frank and Judy Lindner. He was raised in Lake Geneva where he spent a carefree childhood filled with laughter and good times. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he earned his degree in International/Global Studies and completed Army ROTC.

David worked for many years at Safeco and Liberty Mutual Insurance companies, retiring from Liberty Mutual in April 2021 as a Senior Repair Network Specialist. He enjoyed his career in insurance, but he was most proud of his service to the United States of America as a part of the US Army for 23 years. In 2008, he retired as a Major, Signal Corps.

David enjoyed international travel his whole life, having done the quintessential backpack trip through Europe, as well as many other trips exploring far away places and cultures. His most recent family trip was to Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji. He was a buff of politics, history, the Wisconsin Badgers and yes, the Minnesota Vikings.

In 1993, he married the love of his life, Marsha Lea Bachtell in Savannah, Georgia, the area where they continued to make their home and raise their children.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha; daughter Alyson Barreto (David); son Anders Lindner; brothers and sisters Frank Lindner, Tom Lindner (Amber), Marian Lindner, Susan Pedersen (Ron Opper); sister-in-law Maria Jackson and many nieces and nephews. Also very special to him were Dave and Karyn Spence and family. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Judy Lindner, brother-in-law Kenny Pedersen, brother-in-law James Jackson, and sister-in-law Joanne Lindner.

Funeral mass will be at St. Gregory the Great in Bluffton, SC followed by burial with full military honors at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.

His humor and knowledge was like none other and David will be forever missed by all who knew him.
