David Proll

David Francis Proll, 70 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, SC.He was born in New Britain, CT on December 20, 1940. He was the son of the late Francis and Stella Adamovich Proll. He was a professional golfer. He was on the PGA Tour for 22 years and the Senior Tour for 8 years. He was a graduate of Maryland State College. He was in the US Marine Corp where he served on the Presidential Guard for President Eisenhower and President Kennedy.He is survived by his wife, Charlyne B. Proll of Bluffton, SC; one son, Christopher Proll of Sothington, CT; one daughter, Tracy Proll (John) Block of Sothington, CT and one granddaughter, Madison Block.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 14, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5 til 7 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.The family requests memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society or the Marine Corps Relief Fund.
