It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Roberts, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 27, 2024 at the age of 71 in her own home. Born on July 6, 1952 to Jack and Patricia Galey, Debe lived a life full of love, warmth, and memories, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Debe was the loving wife of David Roberts for 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a lifetime of adventures. Their travels together took them to many wonderful places, each journey enriching their lives and creating cherished memories. Her stories of their travels together were always shared with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face.
A devoted mother, Debe is survived by her two daughters, Heather and Andrea, who were the sunshines of her life. She nurtured them with endless love, support, comfort and encouragement, instilling in them the values of kindness, selfless devotion, and boundless affection.
Debe had a deep love for the garden, where she spent countless hours cultivating beauty and tranquility. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, and it brought joy to all who visited. Whether tending to her favorite roses or planting new blooms, she found peace and fulfillment in the simple act of caring for her plants.
Debe’s love language was cooking, and her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of delicious goodies prepared with care and love. Her cooking was a way of expressing her affection, and she delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends. Every meal was a testament to her generous spirit and her joy in bringing people together.
In addition to her husband and daughters, Debe is survived by her son-in-laws, Jason Williams and Nick Bergelt. She was a cherished mother to both of them, known for her warm hospitality, infectious laughter, and generous heart from the moment they both walked into her home.
A celebration of Debe's life will be held on October 12th, 2024 starting at 3pm at Dolphin Head in Hilton Head Plantation with a celebration reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, her specific request was for donations be made to Old Friends Farm, which provides a dignified retirement to Thoroughbred horses whose racing and breeding careers have come to an end.
Debe’s kind-hearted nature, immense love, and steadfast dedication to her family will be profoundly missed. Although she has departed from this world, her legacy of affection, generosity, and zest for life will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
