Debra Catherine Boyles

March 9, 1956 — February 27, 2022

Debra Catherine Carson Boyles, 65, of Hardeeville, SC passed away on February 27, 2022.  She was born on March 9, 1956 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Burrel and Mary Carson (Midge).   She is survived by her husband, Mark C. Boyles, Sr. of Hardeeville, SC.

Debra was loved and acknowledged throughout the community as being devoted to her friends, family and small town. Debra was a lifelong member of Red Dam Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School in her younger years and enjoyed directing and being involved in Vacation Bible School. In late 1974 Debra graduated from Thomas Heyward Academy, and a few short weeks later she was married.  After Debra was married, she began working at the bank in Hardeeville, Southern Bank and Trust, where she obtained many different banking certificates and worked for over 20 years throughout many different bank ownership changes. She retired from banking in 1997 to become a homemaker and start a new journey of being a full time grandmother. Debra also enjoyed spending countless hours helping her husband run his company, Carolina Timber. Later in life, Debra started making wreathes, that eventually turned into friends asking for personalized ones. This newfound hobby had soon turned into a job that she loved most.

Debra had many enjoyments that became household traditions in the Boyles family. She loved her flowers; planting, growing, and watching them bloom. Her yard was filled with a variety of plants that ever so changed each phase of life. She enjoyed decorating the inside of the house just as much as the outside. With every new season came different decorations, but her favorite, Christmas. She would spend dedicated hours to making sure every decoration was perfect, and it shared a small story of what “home” meant to her. Debra also enjoyed baking and cooking her favorite southern dishes. Each Holiday was perfectly crafted with Debra’s food and her love that she shared. But, most importantly, Debra loved her family. She had become dedicated to attending every event from A-Z that involved her children, grandchildren, and her littlest great grandchild. She was better known as “Nanny”, and was soon recognized as the family favorite, always caring for each of her family members with the utmost love.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mark C. Boyles Sr.; her sister Carol Carson Meador (Keith); her two children, Mark Boyles Jr. (Stacy), Meredith Boyles Walls; her eight grandchildren, Mark Boyles III, Carson Boyles (Paige), Gabrielle Boyles, Isabella Walls, Ethan Boyles, Braxton Boyles, Hudson Boyles, Lawton Boyles and one great granddaughter, Paisley Boyles. Along with a host of nieces and nephews.
