Delphine Dolores Laspisa

Del LaSpisa passed away in her home after a 9-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Rick LaSpisa and her son Rik LaSpisa of Pooler, GA, sister Velerie Johnstone and brother Leonard Malek. Del was born in Buffalo N.Y. and grew up in West Seneca N.Y. Her parents were the late John and Magdalene (Marge) Malek. Del was the CFO and vice president of LHB Home Builders in Clarence, NY and the VP and CFO of Rick’s True Value Hardware and Rental in Cheektowaga, NY. She attended the University of Buffalo SUNY. Del loved to play bridge both duplicate and contract, Euchre, Golf, Bocce, Wine Tasting Club and Mahjong. Del belonged to several women’s and couples’ groups. She was a member of Bon Appetit and served as the treasurer and vice president for 4 years. She will be buried at Beaufort National Cemetery. No service is planned at this time due to COVID-19. A Celebration of her Life will be planned post-pandemic. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to MUSC Hollings Cancer Research Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas Street, Charleston, SC 29425.
