Dennis Roger Kiamie

Dennis Roger Kiamie, 88, of Bluffton, SC, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC.

Dennis was born on September 9, 1937, to the late Roger Kiamie and Philomena Esposito Kiamie and was raised in the Bronx, NY. Growing up, he was a talented athlete in all sports. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and played football on the Marine Corps team during his service.

After his honorable discharge, Dennis met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Capurro. They shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Dennis worked at the New York Post for 42 years before retiring. He and Barbara then moved to Sun City Hilton Head, where they spent 26 years enjoying golf, tennis, and the many lasting friendships they made. Their home was filled with laughter, lively conversations, and gatherings with friends who quickly became like family. Whether on the golf course, at the tennis courts, or sharing a meal together, they cherished the strong sense of community and the meaningful connections that enriched their lives.

Dennis was a devoted husband, proud father of three daughters, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by his three daughters: Dawn Chemis (Dan) of Sparta, NJ; Karen Paul of Vernon, NJ; and Linda Goldstein (Steve) of Owings Mill, MD; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Amelia McAulay.

A private memorial service with military honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery.
