Dennis Lawley passed away peacefully at his home Sunday morning, February 26, 2023.  He was born in Upper Darby, PA to Grace and Harry Lawley on June 14, 1942.

Dennis was preceded in death by his sister Maureen Wilson and is survived by his sister Sheila Marshall, and two brothers Harry and Patrick Lawley.

Dennis will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Rita of 30 years and his children David (wife Colleen), Christine Gimber (husband Paul) and Peter (wife Diane).  He was the proud Pop Pop of his six grandchildren:  Evan, Iris, Jane, Frances, Harry and Leo.

Dennis graduated from Villanova University and earned his Master’s Degree from Husson University in Banger, Maine.

Most of Dennis’ work career was spent with Scott Paper Company/S.D. Warren in Maine and later he was administrator at a retirement facility in Portland, ME and also at the Baxter School for the Deaf in Falmouth, ME.

Dennis enjoyed his retirement in South Carolina away from shoveling the “snow” in Maine.  His greatest joys were his family and friends.  He will truly be missed.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, with a Prayer Service at 12:30 PM.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Dennis at Daylesford Abbey, Paoli, PA on May 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial ceremony at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cause of your own choosing.
