Dennis Raymond Murray

Dennis Raymond Murray, of Bluffton South Carolina, passed away at home on April 15, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn, of 55 years of marriage, his daughter Colene Murray (spouse, Keith Murphy), his son Sean Murray (spouse, Stacy Murray), 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Dennis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 25, 1943. He was the oldest of four children and the son of two Naval officers, Raymond and Marie Murray. Dennis was a proud veteran who served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War in Search and Rescue. After the service, he married the love of his life, Kathryn, and raised their two children in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, later moving to Montgomery County. Dennis earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance after 10 year of night school, while working full time, from LaSalle University.

Dennis was the President and CEO of Branch Valley Associates, Inc. until his retirement in 2010, when he and his wife moved to Sun City in Bluffton, South Carolina. Dennis loved living in South Carolina, where he and Kathryn made many wonderful friends. Dennis was an avid golfer, who loved being on the course. In recent years, when he was unable to play, you would often find him sitting on the back porch, with his dog, watching the golfers and enjoying the beautiful weather.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial to follow at 1:00 pm in Beaufort National Cemetery.
