In loving memory of Denny Tibbs Bergelt, affectionately known by all as Tibbs. He was the cherished 19 year-old son of the late Tory Tibbs Bergelt and Tonya Annette Cooke. Tibbs’ warmth and kindness endeared him to his entire family, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Tibbs was a child of God who had devoted his life to Jesus Christ. He grew up playing soccer and football on the island with many of his beloved friends and family. He was an avid dog lover and Carolina Gamecock fan. Tibbs had his heart set on pursuing a career safeguarding the lowcountry community where he was born and raised. After graduating from Hilton Head High School; he trained with determination at the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. He recently graduated from their Explorer program, embodying his life’s commitment to protect and serve his hometown. Tibbs’ love extended beyond his immediate family to include his extended family, who not only adored him, but also had a profound and formative impact on his life. Their love and influence helped shape the remarkable young man he became. His absence leaves a void that is immeasurable for his entire family. His memory will be cherished by everyone fortunate enough to have known him. A memorial service to celebrate Tibbs’ life will be held at the Lowcountry Memorial Garden at Sauls Funeral home in Bluffton on Saturday, February 10, at 3 pm. All those who knew him are encouraged to attend to honor his life. May his spirit find eternal peace and may his family find strength and harmony in the memories they shared with this exceptional young man.
