Colonel Don James Ogden was born March 29th 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harvey and Lois Ogden. He grew up in Indianapolis and was a graduate of Purdue. He joined the Marine Corps in 1956 and served his Country honorably for 30 years. Distinctive tours included a command combat tour in Viet Nam, the U. S. Naval Post Graduate School, the National Security Agency, the U. S. Naval Academy and the White House Communications Agency. Upon retiring from the Marine Corps in 1986 he and his beloved wife MaryAnn settled in Moss Creek, Hilton Head, SC. MaryAnn predeceased him in 1997. Colonel Ogden passed away on Friday May 5th 2017 in the Hilton Head Hospital after an illness. Colonel Ogden is survived by his sons Michael and Richard, grandsons James and Matthew, granddaughters Nayla and Samantha, sisters Lois and Judy, brother Gary, daughter-in-law’s Renee and Kimberly, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, fellow Marines and many, many friends. Graveside services will be held on Friday May 12th at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC at 11 AM.
