Donna Lee Bagley

Donna Lee Bagley (Engh) was called to join her Creator in Heaven on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She spent her final days in the comfort of her home and passed peacefully while surrounded by the love of family.

Donna was born Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, on October 7, 1940. She grew up in Kensington, Maryland, attended Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, and met the love of her life (Fred) in grade school. They were married in 1959 and remained devoted to one another for 66+ years.

Through her teen years, Donna was active in the International Order of Job’s Daughters and worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. As a young adult, she committed her time to caring for her family and her mother, was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Kensington Volunteer Fire Department. The family moved to Silver Spring, Maryland in 1976, and Donna worked part time in Admissions at Montgomery General Hospital.

Fred and Donna relocated from Maryland to Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Virginia, where they resided for 17 years. In 2004, they took another leap of faith and landed in Sun City in Bluffton, South Carolina, where Donna enjoyed gardening, ceramics club, music, playing card games, dominoes and Mah Jongg with neighbors. She was a woman of strong faith with a delightful sense of humor. She sang in the choir and participated in many activities at Church of the Palms, and she served others in need through Stephen Ministry. Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend who valued family and cherished spending time with those near and dear to her.

Donna is predeceased by her parents, Royal Shepard Engh and Lucie Elnor Engh (Constable). She is survived by her beloved husband and life-long friend, Frederick Clarence Bagley, and her four (4) children, Diana Tucker, Brenda Berg (husband, Walter), Ella Mullins (husband, Quintin), and James Bagley. In addition to many other family members and friends, Donna was cherished and adored by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
