OBITUARY FOR DONNA BARR

Donna Barr, age 80, passed away on October 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Donna was the beloved wife of Kendall Barr, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. She was truly the love of his life, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family, friendship, laughter, and adventure. Just weeks ago, Donna and Kendall celebrated her 80th birthday with a memorable riverboat cruise through Portugal, a fitting celebration of a life so well lived.

Above all else, Donna cherished her family. She was a loving mother to Alison Beitzel, a dear mother-in-law to Matthew Beitzel, and a proud and devoted grandmother to Max and Emerson Beitzel. Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater joy than the time they spent together.

Born to the late Norman and Helen Cantlon, Donna was preceded in death by her siblings Thomas Cantlon and Nancy Hakola. She is survived by her brother, James Cantlon.

A graduate of Parma High School and Kent State University, Donna dedicated more than 30 years to teaching elementary school, touching the lives of countless students throughout her career. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others made her a natural educator and a treasured friend.

Donna had a passion for golf and enjoyed many wonderful years as a member of Spring Valley, Avon Oaks, and Oldfield Golf Clubs. She spent much of her adult life in Bay Village, Ohio, a community she proudly called home, before moving to Bluffton, South Carolina, where she embraced a new chapter filled with friendships and cherished memories. She was also a devoted member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton.

Known for her gracious spirit and warm smile, Donna had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel welcome and special. She lived her life with love, generosity, and joy, leaving behind beautiful memories and a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
