Donna Jean Wood Meador

Donna Jean Wood Meador died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.  She has left this earthly home to be with her husband, daughter, and parents in her promised home in heaven.

Jean Meador was 96 years old and  had a full and complete life. Her family request your help in celebrating her life and not her death.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Bill Meador. They were married on July 27, 1945,  and were married for 63 years. Her daughter and son-in-law Genny and Keith Daley. Her parents were Clyde and Gretchen Wood. Three Sisters LaFaye Krohn, Freda Holt, and Edith Puckett.

She left forty-three children and their spouses to carry her memory forward. Six Children, Nine Grand, Fifteen Great Grand and two Great-Great Grand and eleven spouses.

Her children are Becky Keiffer (Jerry), Billy Meador (Dora), Susan Lassiter (Bubba), Keith Meador (Carol), George Meador (Robin).

Nine Grand Children- Ernie, Brian, Elizabeth, John, Rebekah, James, Howard, Christina, and Danial. Fifteen Great Grandchildren and two Great-Great grandchildren. Three special family members Karen, Buzz, Dianna, and Sonny.

Her whole life was centered around her family and church. The weekly ladies’ luncheon was a highlight of her week. She is a member of May River Baptist but still had close ties to Hardeeville Methodist and Meldrim Methodist.

Family gathering was a great part of her life and she loved big reunions. One of her joys was visiting family all over the country. Bill and her drove out to Idaho to see her cousins, sometime taking grandchildren.

She loved working in her yard and sitting in her swing that Bill made. She loved to make quilts by hand until she was no longer able to sew. Over the years she made quilts for all her children.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, April 9,2025 at the Maye River Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
