Dora Elizabeth (Mixson) Crews

Dora Elizabeth Mixson Crews, age 91, of Yemassee, SC and widow of William Otis (Pete) Crews, passed away on December 9, 2021, in Columbia, SC.

Mrs. Crews was born in Grays, SC on October 18, 1930 to the late Stephen Holbrook Mixson and Ethel Lee Tindal Mixson.

Mrs. Crews was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church.  She was a devoted wife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress and loved working in her yard and garden.

Mrs. Crews is survived by her son, William O. Crews (Jane) of Columbia, SC and her daughter, Susan Crews Grayson (Phillip Brogdon) of Hampton, SC; her brother, Olin Mixson of Grays, SC; her sisters, Vonette Horton of Varnville, SC, and Margaret Calvert of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Breland, Andrew Breland, Ellie Crews, and Matthew Crews and two great grandchild, Mixon Breland and Thomas Breland.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Grover, Warren (Moss), Willie (Bubba) Woodrow and Gary Mixon and her sisters, Verna Tuten, Allean Simmons, and Ethel Horton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Varnville, SC. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Pine Level Baptist Church, 2009 Pine Level Church Rd, Early Branch, SC 29916.
