Doris Lauver Hish

Doris Lauver Hish, of Bluffton, SC, age 93, died on August 19, 2014. A memorial service will be held for Doris on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC at 11:00 a.m. Doris Hish was born in Jersey Shore, PA on July 26, 1921, the daughter of the late John Herritt and Louise Herritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four of her brothers. She is survived by her brother, Rev. Richard Herritt of Atlantic City, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd Lauver who died in 1980 after their marriage of 42 years. Surviving are their children Florence Hobgood of Stafford, VA and James Lauver (Susan), of Bluffton, SC, the grandchildren Doris Story (Scott) and Donna Jellison (Jeff), David Lauver (Leslie), Jeffrey Lauver (Melissa), 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Doris married Donald (Red) Hish in 1986 and Donald died in 2003. Doris is survived by her stepchildren, Lloyd Hish, Gerald Hish, Arthur Hish, Joseph Hish, Roseann Long, and the Hish grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald and Doris were preceded in death by Donald's oldest son, James Hish. Family meant everything to Doris and she will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Missionary Hospice, 149 Riverwalk Blvd. Suite 6, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
