Doris Elizabeth Lucas

Doris Smith Lucas (81), born November 5, 1934, passed away on May 23, 2016 at Coastal Carolina Hospital after a long illness. She was a long time member of Great Swamp Baptist Church and participated in the nursery program for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph “Buddie” Lucas and her sister, Willa Lee Smith. She is survived by her two sons, Ronnie (Kathy) Lucas and Lavarn (Kathy) Lucas of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren Dena (Jon) Davidson of James Island, SC; Clay (Kate) Lucas of Ridgeland, SC, Josh (Katie) Lucas of Simpsonville, SC, Garrett (Sarah) Lucas of Ridgeland, SC and Kelli Lucas of Ridgeland, SC; her brother, Clifton Pinckney (Elizabeth) Smith of Ridgeland, SC and a niece Teresa (Dan) Kleckley of Ridgeland, SC; She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Alexa, Hailey, Owen, Mason, Marlie and Bailey. Graveside Services will be held at the Ridgeland Cemetery on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:30 am. The family will receive guests at the home of Lavarn and Kathy Lucas immediately following the interment.
