Doris Brannon Rivers

Doris Brannon Rivers, 84 of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Hardeeville, SC passed away at Compassionate Caregivers Inc. in Jacksonville on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. She was born in Hardeeville, SC on October 12, 1930 to the late George M. Brannon and Ruth Hubbard Brannon. She was an Avon Lady, and later worked as a unit clerk in the Labor and Delivery department of Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She retired from Baptist in 1994. She was a member of the Parkwood Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and a member of the Edgar Mole Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Hardeeville, SC. Her joy was in the Lord, her home and her family. Her best times were when she was cooking and serving her family. She loved nothing more than making memories with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene R. Simpson (Fred) of St. Augustine, FL; her sister, Maude Brannon Montgomery of Kingstree, SC; her grandchildren, Ashley Bunnell (Kevin), Kristin Alverson (Dustin), Kaley Crenshaw and her great grandchildren, Gavin Alverson, Logan Alverson and Brooks Bunnell. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Francis Rivers; her daughter, Wanda Sue Rivers;her sisters, Barbara Brannon Rachels, Jenelle Brannon Rivers and Margaret Brannon Sanders and her brother, George Mills Brannon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland with burial in St. Lukes United Methodist Church cemetery, Okatie, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
