Dorothy Jenkins Fennell

Mrs. Dorothy Jenkins Fennell, the daughter of the late Mr. Wilbur and Caroline Jenkins was born on January 16, 1936 in Jasper County, South Carolina. Her entire life was spent in and around this community. On Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA she was called to her eternal home. She was a Homemaker; member Zion Oak Grove Baptist Church and a member of Bee Dreamers Group. Mrs. Fennell leaves to cherish her memories, two devoted daughters, Susie (Robert) DuPont; Linda Fennell; three sons, Thomas (Alberta) Fennell; James Fennell and Dwight (Tammy) Fennell; one adoptive daughter, Alvestus Levine; three Grandchildren she raised, Cedric (Kiki) Jenkins; Robert DuPont, Jr. and Shakima DuPont; four sisters, Liza Gregory; Dora Jenkins; Ruthie Jenkins and Emily Jenkins, all of Ridgeland, SC; five brothers, Joseph Gregory of Charleston, SC; Wilbur (Louise) Jenkins of Big State; Elijah (Jeanette) Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC; John Jenkins also of Ridgeland, SC and Herbert (Jennifer) Jenkins of Hilton Head, SC; four Aunts, one Grand Uncle, William Singleton, Sr.; one Uncle; two sisters in law, Sarah Rivers of Long Island, NY and Bernice Fennell of Beaufort, SC; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild, Caitlyn Jenkins; five special nieces, Arlene, Polly, Rhonda, Brittany Jenkins and Sharmela Orr; a very special and devoted friend, Beatrice Gregory and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at11:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Zion Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in Roseland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 til 8 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Sauls Funeral Home in Ridgeland.Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements. (saulsfh.com)
