Dorothy "Dot" Malphrus Cooler Way

Dorothy “Dot” Malphrus Cooler Way, 92, widow of Eugene B. Way, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Ridgeland Nursing Center. She was born in Ridgeland, South Carolina on November 27, 1927 to the late John Walter Malphrus and Golda Virginia Lowther Malphrus. She was one of 15 children.

She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attended the Ridgeland Ward. Dot enjoyed singing, gardening, and shopping. She was hospitable and always gave a small gift to her friends and family when they visited.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Golda “Penny” Parrott (Oren) of Jefferson, GA; two sons, James Everett “Rhett” Cooler, Jr. and Kenneth “Ken” Reginald Cooler (Peggy), both of Ridgeland; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Pinckney Malphrus (Mary). She was preceded in death by two grandsons and one great-grandson.

Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with arrangements.
