Dorothy Vernon Mock

Dorothy Vernon Blanchard Mock, 97 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Summit Place of Beaufort. She was born in West Green, GA on August 8, 1917 to the late John Hurt Blanchard and Eula Mae Perkins. She was a Graduate of Ridgeland High School and Draughn's Junior College. She worked as an Executive Assistant and Bookkeeper for Deerfield Sand and Mining Company. She was a member of Euhaw Baptist Church, where she served many roles including Treasurer. She was an avid volunteer, fundraiser and Treasurer for the American Cancer Society. Also locally known for her scrumptious pound cakes and Lady Fingers. She is survived by her son, Mike Mock (Linda) of Hillsville, VA; her daughter, Martha Jo Ryan of Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren, Dana (Jack Anderson), Deidra (Larry) Chavis, Melanie (Jim) Reynolds, Crystal (Mike) Atwood, Jamie Mock, Marlow (Tommy) Ryan and Dawn (Tony) Poteet; great grandchildren, Meghan, Jessica, Norman, Reannah, Blake, Brooke, Timothy, Tabitha, Kalin, Randi, Joseph and great, great grandchildren, Dakota, Jackson and Dallas. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dorothy Joyce Mock and seven siblings, Mary, Ruth, Marvin, John, Earl, Aubrey and Alma. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, James Melvin Mock, Sr. and daughter, Joyce Mock. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, May 18, 2015 at Euhaw Baptist Church, Ridgeland with burial in Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 til 5 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland. Memorials may be made to the Ridgeland Cemetery Fund, P. O.
