Dorothy Ann Petty Lankford

Dorothy Ann Petty Lankford, 86, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Boaz, AL passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 in the Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, SC.She was born in Gadsden, Alabama on May 11, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Jessie and Mary Lou Walton Petty. She was a homemaker. During World War II she was an Aviation Electrician at the Army Air Field in Mobile, AL. She was a Methodist.She is survived by her son, Russell (Judy) Lankford of Hartwell, GA; three daughters, Glenda Lankford of Pooler, GA, Denise (DeWayne) Foust of San Antonia, TX and Darlene (Michael) West of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Vera Juanita Gray of Romulus, Michigan; grandchildren, Shawn West, Craig (Jana) Foust, Dawn (Brendan) Less, Corey Foust, and Terry (Betsy) Lankford; great grandchildren, Crystal, Jacob, Kayla, Kelsey, Bailey, Isabelle, Ethan and Logan. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett R. Lankford and grandsons, Brian Griffith and Mark Lankford.The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Tuesday evening, June 15, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their local arrangements and Carr Funeral Home of Boaz, Alabama is assisting the family with the final burial arrangements.
