Dorothy Ellen Stutts Perry

Dorothy Ellen Stutts Perry of West Columbia, SC, passed away on September 18, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC, after an extended illness. She was born on April 20, 1936, in Ridgeland, SC.

Dorothy grew up in Grahamville and graduated from Ridgeland High School. She always talked fondly of her friends and enjoyed reminiscing about her life in Grahamville and Ridgeland. After she married, Dorothy ultimately relocated to Columbia, SC where she was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Later in her life she worked in local daycares as a preschool teacher.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Tiney Lightsey Stutts and John Edward Stutts along with her brothers James Earl Stutts and George Milton Stutts. Her husband of 55 years, Landis Nelson Perry, preceded her in death in August of 2017.

Dorothy’s memory is cherished by her daughter, Debra Lynne Perry Stec, her sister Polly Davis, her nieces Linda Davis Pearre and Tracy Davis Heisler, and her nephew Christopher Schonning. Additionally, special family friends Becky and Robert Caulder and their children were near and dear to her heart.

Dorothy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 1, 2021 in Grahamville Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC.
