Dorothy Marie Griner Underwood, 100, of Guyton, Georgia and widow of Reverend Cecil T. Underwood left us on Monday, February 18, 2013 but left her family and friends with many cherished memories. Dorothy was a truly remarkable woman. Surviving the flu epidemic of 1921, which took her father home, she went on to enter at the age of 15 Georgia Teachers College, which is now Georgia Southern University. She become a school teacher and continued her education receiving several Master and Bachelor degrees. At her death, Dorothy was the oldest surviving graduate of Georgia Southern University.
