Douglas C. Moat, Sr.

Douglas C. Moat, Sr. passed away peacefully on April 20 in Bluffton, South Carolina. Born August 2, 1931 in St. John, New Brunswick Canada and raised in Toronto, Doug was a graduate of Toronto University '52 and Fordham Law School'72. For twenty years he was President of the Manhattan Group in New York City and continued to consult on Insurance company mergers and Acquisitions during his retirement in Bluffton, South Carolina. Always an avid sports fan, he was an NHL official in the late 1950's and continued to be an active golf and tennis player until his very last days. He will deeply missed by his son Douglas Moat, Jr. from Minneapolis, MN (wife Cindy) and daughter Stephanie Junger-Moat, from New York, NY and Red Hook, NY and his niece Vicky Paul and nephew Doug Paul of Toronto, Canada.
