Edward J. Rose, Jr.

Edward J. Rose, Jr., age 68, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Boston, MA died Monday, October 26, 2015 at his home. Mr. Rose was born on December 11, 1946 in Brighton, MA, the son of the late Edward J. Rose and Mary Coleman Rose. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Ed worked for the MBTA in Boston for 22 years where he managed the Power Engineering Department. Following early retirement, he brought his talents to other transit properties in North America. Over the past 15 years, Ed worked at STV Inc. as a Senior Project Manager until his recent retirement in August. His talents were a major contributing factor to the successful delivery of new Light Rail Systems constructed in both Houston, TX and Charlotte, NC. Throughout his tenure, Ed was also a dedicated mentor to many young engineers. Mr. Rose is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Louise Persico Rose; son, Christopher E. Rose (Kearsley) of Plymouth, MA; daughters, Jessica Roy (Marc) of Salem, CT and Danielle Bean (Richard) of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Tom Rose (Sue) of Medfield, MA and Jim Rose of Bellingham, MA; sister, Maggie Powers (Jim) of Haverhill, MA; and grandchildren, CJ, Jarred, and Alexis Rose as well as Owen and Liam Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Westwood, MA at a later date.
