Edward Dale Wood

Edward Dale Wood, 80 of Bluffton and beloved husband of Joyce JoAnn Wood passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at his home. He was born in Brownsville, PA to the late Hartsel Lorraine Wood and as his mother was affectionately known as Mamaw Jones Wood. He had lived in the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton area for the past 32 years coming from Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Ohio University. He was president and CEO of three insurance companies in Cincinnati. He was a member of Oyster Reef, Dolphin Head, Hilton Head Plantation and Belfair Golf Clubs. He was a volunteer with the Arts Council. Playing golf was his second passion. He leaves his wife, his first passion, JoAnn Wood and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher E. Wood. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.
