Edwin Neeley Hinckley

Edwin Neeley Hinckley, age 78, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Plano, TX and Roswell, GA died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at home. Mr. Hinckley was born on November 16, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of the late George and Fern Johnson Hinckley. After graduating high school Edwin enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. Following his military tenure he began his formal education at Utah State University where he pledged Sigma Chi. He finished his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and ultimately earned his graduate degree from Northwestern University. He then began his career in advertising with Kraft Foods and Swift in Chicago, but was later hired by Henderson Advertising Agency in Greenville, SC. Following Greenville he continued to work as an executive with advertising agencies in San Antonio, Dallas, and ultimately Atlanta, where he retired. He was a recipient of many awards and in 1972 was honored with the Clio Award. Mr. Hinckley was preceded in death by his siblings, Colleen Maxwell and Dr. George Hinckley. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Joyce Davis Hinckley; stepson, Stephen Duncan (Kim); and step-grandchildren, Stevie, Chloe, and Christopher.
