Eileen Mock

Eileen Cleland Mock, 90, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at NHC Nursing Facility in Okatie, South Carolina.

Eileen was born on January 29, 1936, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, to James Walter and Daisy Lee Lowther Cleland. She married Lyn Rogers Mock on Dec 4, 1955, at her home in Ridgeland, and together they raised four sons—Murray Lyn, Walter Dayne, Marion Jason, and Rogers Shannon Mock. She was a devoted and loving mother.

She lived an exemplary life of quiet, charitable service. Whether through childcare, adult care, or end-of-life care, she gave freely of herself to anyone she noticed in need. With patience and kindness, she cared tirelessly for the sick, the lonely, and the forgotten. She found great joy in preparing meals, cleaning and ironing, driving others to appointments, and sitting with those who needed companionship. She formed friendships easily and built meaningful relationships with all she met, leaving a lasting impression on their lives.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities. From 1997 to 1998, she and her husband served a mission in Farmington, New Mexico, covering the Four Corners region and focusing on service among the Navajo Nation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers; her son, Murray; her daughter-in-law, Teri; her parents; and all of her siblings—Eloy, Jimmie, Vernon (“Rabbit”), Edna, Faye, and Kenneth.

She is survived by three sons: Dayne (Leita) Mock of Ridgeland, South Carolina; Jason (Kerry) Mock of Ridgeland, South Carolina; Shannon (Robyn) Mock of Salt Lake City, Utah; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Mock of Beaufort, South Carolina; 23 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the family plot in Ridgeland Cemetery on Ingram Street in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Tyler Mock, Casey Mock, Dustin Mock, Cody Parker, Logan Mock, Garret Mock, Tayne Mock, and Esten Mock. Honorary pallbearers are Aidan Mock and Mien Mock.
