Elaine (Nettles) Degler

Elaine Nettles Degler, 91, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Ridgeland Nursing Center.

Elaine was born August 5, 1932 in Ridgeland to the late William H. Nettles and Maude Dean Nettles. She was a devoted member of Great Swamp Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and working in her garden.

Elaine is survived by her son, Robert Franklin Cleland, Jr. (Holly) of Ridgeland; daughters, Theresa C. Lowther (David) and Janet C. Ashton (Mike), both of Ridgeland; brothers, Jack E. Nettles and H. Ford Nettles; sister, Vera Miles of Ridgeland; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Daniel, Betsy, Christopher, Riley, Justin, Jessica, Angie, and Brad; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Degler and sisters, Claire Jager and Frances Bare.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Gillisonville Cemetery.
