Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Conklin Godshall

January 28, 1936 - February 13, 2025

Elizabeth A. Godshall, 89, of Hilton Head, SC passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 13, 2025 with her family by her side, following heart surgery complications.

An only child, Betty was born on January 28, 1936 in Muskegon, MI.  She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Helen (Luidens) Conklin.

A Michigan State graduate with a B.S in Education, Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She shared a beautiful life with her loving husband, Warren Godshall, for 65 years, creating a home in East Grand Rapids filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. A devoted mother, Betty adored her two daughters, Kim Godshall Yowell (Will) and Holly Godshall Skaff (Jeff), and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her five grandchildren: Parker Skaff (Emily), Julie Corder (Daniel), William Yowell (Tracy), David Yowell (Maggie) and Andrew Yowell, whom she adored. She was also overjoyed to welcome two great-granddaughters (Emerson & Ellie) into the family.  Betty was thrilled to know there where two more great-grandchildren on the way!

Spending the majority of her life in both East Grand Rapids and Muskegon, MI, Betty always referring to herself as a "Michigan Girl" where she cultivated many lasting friendships. Betty was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church for over 50 years.  Her warmth and loving spirit made her a treasured part of her community. In her later years, she and Warren moved to Hilton Head Island, SC to be closer to their daughters and to get away from the snow.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Bluffton, SC with internment at Mayflower Congregational Church, Grand Rapids, MI.

Betty's legacy of warmth, love and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held so dear.  She will be terribly missed.
