Elizabeth Virginia Berney

Elizabeth Virginia Berney of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2014. Elizabeth was born February 29, 1976 in Omaha, NE. She spent her childhood in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska before moving to Sioux City, Iowa. After living for a brief time in Iowa she moved to South Carolina. Elizabeth was employed for twelve years at Colleton River Plantation. Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Virginia Horan Berney of Bluffton, sister, Stephanie Grim (Ron) of Matthews, NC, one niece, Grace Grim and one nephew, Keagan Grim and several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Joseph Berney, all four grandparents, two aunts and two uncles. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909.
