Elizabeth Devlin (Betty) Ryan

Elizabeth (Betty) Ryan, 65, of Bluffton, SC formerly of Westfield, NJ died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at home.Betty is survived by her husband of 42 wonderful years, Peter Ryan; her youngest daughter, Allison Gaffney of Monmouth Beach, NJ. Allison and her husband, Brian, have two children, Brendan and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister, Maryann Campanella of Linden, NJ. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Jennifer.Betty was a graduate of Kean University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She taught third grade at the Morton Street School in Newark, NJ and the Hehnly School in Clark, NJ. She was a longtime Westfield resident and a realtor with The Alan Johnston Co. in Mountainside, NJ.Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westfield and The Lowcountry Presbyterian Church in Bluffton. She enjoyed membership and residence at Colleton River Plantation and membership at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield.Betty loved being with her grandchildren and had a passion for bridge and the game of sudoku.Services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church in Westfield, NJ on Wednesday, February 10th at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church
