Ella Mae Smith, 87 of Hardeeville, SC and widow of James Smith passed away on March 2, 2015 at Bloom of Bluffton. She was born in Nixville, SC on January 1, 1928 to the late Herman Woods and Ida Mae DeLoach Woods. She was a faithful member to the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville since 1953. She loved working in her garden. She is survived by her sons, James Herman Smith (Dorothy) of Grays, SC and Lamar H. "˜Marty' Smith (Carolyn) of Bluffton, SC; one daughter, Sybil S. Harvey of Bluffton, SC; a brother, Marvin Crosby of Darien, GA; six sisters, Mildred Shipes (Melvin) of Hampton, SC, Sally Smith (Duane) of Columbia, SC, Lillie Maude Terry of Hardeeville, SC, Agnes Peeples (Edgar) of Hampton, SC, Ellen Wilson (Harry) of Charleston, SC and Lydia Breland (Bobby) of Grays, SC; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Beatrice DeLoach, Lorene Exley, Margurite Smith and Linda Crosby and her two brothers, Lloyd and Bernard Crosby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville with burial in the Purrysburg Cemetery, Hardeeville. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville or St. Lukes Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville with burial in the Purrysburg Cemetery, Hardeeville. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville or St. Lukes Hospice.
