Ellen Marie (O'Keefe) Berry, age 77, of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Hampton, New Hampshire, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Coastal Carolina Hospital. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Dr. Robert Albert Berry. She was born on September 12, 1940 in New York City, New York, the daughter of the late Keith and Mary O’Keefe. She attended Virginia Western College where she earned her certification as a paralegal. She was a member of the Junior League and the Women’s Association. She enjoyed horseback riding and was a talented artist. She and her husband, Bob, owned and operated The Exeter Hearing Clinic in Exeter, New Hampshire while living in nearby Hampton, New Hampshire. Ellen spent her retirement years in Bluffton, South Carolina. She loved to travel, was an exceptional cook, an avid reader, a sensational gardener, and a passionate member of the Republican Party. She is survived by her children, Gamine Marie Kelly of Blacksburg, Virginia, Jonathan Keith Kelly and his wife, Paige, of Dublin, Virginia, and Ellen Anne Long and her husband, David, of North Easton, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Saracco of Fairfield, Connecticut, and Patricia M. O’Keefe of Arvada, Colorado, her stepsister, Susan Hanley of Titusville, Florida, and her stepbrother, John Cook, of Vero Beach, Florida. Mrs. Berry leaves her grandchildren, Spencer Saunders, Jack Long, and Allison Long, a cousin, Carl Orza and his wife, Kathy, and a host of loving extended family. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, South Carolina, 29910.
