Eloise A. Mixson

Eloise A. Mixson, widow of Gary M. Mixson Sr., passed away on January 1, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1928 in Miley, SC to Grover and Vera Thames Altman.

She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and choir member for over 50 years.  She worked as a seamstress at Holiday Wear Manufacturing. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and working in her garden.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Daisy Horton and Carolyn Hiers,  her daughter, Janice Mixson Wessinger and her son, Timothy Mixson.

She is survived by her son, Gary M. Mixson, Jr. (Mary Ann) and her daughter, Vickie Mixson Nash (James) as well as her grandchildren, Leigh Mixson (Heather), Phillip Mixson (Heather), Marie Mixson Mason, Ryan Smith (Andrea), Tamara Herber (Matthew), Angie M. Crosby (Daniel), and Haley Bennett (David).

The family of Eloise Mixson wishes to thank the staff of White Oak Manor in North Charleston, SC for their excellent care of our loved one, Eloise, and their compassion to our family.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Pine Level Baptist Church at 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
