Elsworth Eugene James

Elsworth Eugene James, 84 of Bluffton passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Bloom at Bluffton. He was born in Commerce, Georgia on March 8, 1929 to the late Eugene Howard and Marie Elizabeth Brookshire James. He was retired from the United States Navy and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, GA. He enjoyed playing golf; a volunteer for Toys for Tots; a little league coach and a University of Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a Baptist. He is survived by two sons, Michael G. James (Wendy) of Burbank, CA and Randall E. James (Michele) of St. Augustine, FL; one daughter, Denise James Cantoria (Manuel) of Bluffton, SC; one brother, Donald James (Jayne) of Dallas, GA; one sister, Patricia J. Dean (Vernon) of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Brandon D. Pierce of Athens, GA and M. Jeremy Pierce (Susan) of Winder, GA; and great grandchildren, Kylie Graden, Cameron Best, Emerson Pierce and Amber McFalls. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
